Head tube angle, wheel base & chain stays

The three factors of steering angle A, wheelbase B and chainstay length play a decisive role in terms of the dynamic character of the bike. If, for example, only the reach is enlarged or the steering angle is designed to be flatter, the wheelbase increases accordingly and the bike soon becomes sluggish. The length of the chainstay is therefore a key factor. If this length is shortened appropriately in the design, a shallower steering angle can be employed, which improves smoothness, without the bike losing any manoeuvrability or agility. Via the reach, the rider can be integrated perfectly into the bike as an overall system.
