ADP Concept & Design Center
The development of mountain bikes thrives on direct practical relevance. In spring 2017, ADP Engineering GmbH therefore founded its own Concept & Design Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The location was chosen deliberately, as the region is an ideal starting point for bike tours of all kinds. The selection of test routes ranges from extreme big-mountain terrain to harmonious flow trails.
Innovation Lab promotes "out-of-the-box" thinking
While the core team of ROTWILD engineers works mainly at the company headquarters in Dieburg, the ADP Concept & Design Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen has established itself as an Innovation Lab. Here, among others, Lutz Scheffer develops innovative bike concepts and prototypes for ROTWILD. The team meets regularly in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps to discuss designs, constructions and models together and develop them further in a targeted manner. The think tank is also used for meetings of all kinds, as it promotes the "out-of-the-box" way of thinking, which is characterized by a high level of creativity and new, unconventional approaches to solutions.
Big mountain terrain for product testing under extreme conditions
Especially in the dynamic EMTB development, where ROTWILD is one of the innovation leaders, an own development center in one of the most demanding biker regions in Germany has enormous advantages. Extensive product tests are required before a product idea can be implemented in series production. The ACDC (Advanced Concept & Design Center) has an integrated bike workshop for this purpose, where new concepts can be transferred to prototypes in a short time and immediately tested in practice. The Wank, which is only a stone's throw away from the ADP location, is crisscrossed by countless trails and mountain paths and, with its south-facing mountain flank, is an ideal test area. Bikes that pass the test trails here with flying colors will also perform without problems in the low mountain ranges and elsewhere.
ACDC as a meeting place for bike developers
Not only the ROTWILD team meets regularly at the ACDC to plan product strategies and discuss new bike concepts. Also partners of ROTWILD, like the supplier Brose, use the opportunity to hold meetings with their engineering teams in an inspiring and mountain bike friendly environment. This allows ideas to be developed and experiences to be exchanged at an early stage of the development process. Of course, joint after-work laps on the trails are an integral part of such meetings.
