E-performance meets world cup

If every second counts and enduro racing is your thing, are you ready to take your passion to a whole new level? If so, then read on: because we developed the R.EXC together with the World Cup pros specifically for the demands of E-Enduro racing. Its outstanding innovation, the Elevated Box Design of the rear triangle, does one thing for sure: it makes you faster! With the Mid-High Pivot System, you will master steep powerstages and demanding descents with ease.

What does it stand for?

The start of this year's E-Enduro World Cup season marks the beginning of an exciting era at ROTWILD: the return to international mountain bike racing. We already have the bike for it, packed with innovations - that's the way it is in racing. Our engineers have rethought the suspension and developed the Elevated Box Design. This mid-high pivot system works around a higher pivot point and raises the bike's riding dynamics to a new level. The high rear-end stiffness and the optimized anti-rise and anti-squat values make it the ideal companion for E-Enduro racing. With 170 mm front suspension travel, mullet, adjustable geometry and rear triangle length, the R.EXC sets new standards in terms of versatility and performance. What does the name mean? The three letters stand for ultimate performance: E for Enduro, X for versatility and the C clearly signals Competition.

In terms of drive technology, we rely on the dynamic Shimano EP801 motor, which can be individually and extensively adjusted to the personal preferences of the racers. The position of the new 820 Wh battery ensures a low and thus dynamically favorable center of gravity and thus an optimal balance of downhill performance and maneuverability. Thanks to the quick release system, the battery can also be removed quickly and easily - because that's what counts in a race. The R.EXC embodies the ROTWILD racing DNA, it combines performance, innovation and precise engineering and will now be on the hunt for best times with the ROTWILD Schwalbe Gravity Team.

Full carbon frame

When you’re out on the racetrack, you must be able to rely unconditionally on your equipment; there's no room for compromise in a race. Construction a frame, this means finding the right balance between durability and low weight. And what's the perfect material for that? Carbon! After extensive calculations using FEM simulations, building numerous prototypes, and test-rides, our engineering team has developed the optimal solution. Further optimizations of the manufacturing steps and careful material selection ensure that the R.EXC frame effortlessly withstands the highest stresses in racing. Precision handcrafted and with a new finish – Race proven!

Elevated Box Design

The silhouette of the ROTWILD R.EXC is characterized by the new Elevated Box Design, featuring a chain stay bends upwards. The large volume of the carbon swingarm ensures symmetrical stiffness performance. The crossbar between the two chain stays also moves upwards, giving the rear wheel the necessary tire clearance. This is particularly important in racing situations with mud and sludge. In addition, chain slap is effectively reduced, which is noticeable through particularly low riding noise.

Mid-High Pivot Suspension

The pivot point of the R.EXC frame has been moved further forward and upwards, combining the advantages of a classic four-link rear triangle with those of a high-pivot setup. Without the chainstay length changing too much during compression or creating a particularly high anti-rise value, a very active and forgiving chassis is achieved. The anti-rise value change through the suspension travel between 65 % and 49 %, thus preventing stiffening under braking. The anti-squat value remains constant between 106 % and 108 % over the entire suspension travel - the chain tension thus stabilizes the chassis and prevents uneven spring movement.

The travel of the ROTWILD R.EXC is adjustable in three settings of 160 mm, 150 mm and 145 mm. This is made possible by an innovative shock mount at the linkage. When the suspension travel is reduced, the progression on the shock increases. At the same time, the steering angle becomes steeper and the bb height rises. Ideal for flatter stages, transfers or power stages.

Shimano Motor EP801

The Shimano EP801 motor is an outstanding example of innovative e-bike technology, ideally suited for use in e-enduro racing. The combination of motor power, many customization options, low weight, openness to further technological developments, and integration into the R.EXC frame is crucial here. With a torque of up to 85 Nm, the Shimano EP801 provides powerful assistance while also allowing for the use of ROTWILD's proprietary battery technology.

IPU Carbon Battery 820 Wh

The latest generation of technology for extended range: the battery, even in the R.EXC, is an in-house development of our engineering team. For the first time, we can utilize Gen2 high-performance cells of the 21700 type for the R.EXC. These cells now provide a total capacity of 820 Wh, setting a new benchmark in battery technology. To save weight, we integrate the cells into a very lightweight carbon battery housing. Via a Quick Release mechanism, the battery can be removed and reinstalled in seconds. In races where track profiles necessitate battery swaps, this is a tremendous advantage.

Flip Chip +/- 5 mm

The chainstay length of the R.EXC frame can be adjusted by 5 mm from 436 mm to 441 mm. On the one hand, the insert in the dropout provides more agility or more stability thanks to an increased wheelbase. In addition, the position of the rider within the bike can be easily adjusted to increase the pressure on the front wheel. The flip chip is combined with a standardized UDH derailleur hanger.

Mullet Setup

The R.EXC bike is set up with Mullet wheels. At the front, the 29" wheel provides the necessary rollover behavior and tracking stability. At the rear, the 27.5" rear wheel creates short, maneuverable chainstays and the extra grip you need for acceleration at the start or in power stages.
