The R.X275 calls - a wide echo comes back

"Uffpasse, die Hesse komme!" This is how Michael Biernoth from emtb-news introduces his ride report on our new ROTWILD R.X275. If we look at the overall reaction of the trade journalists, this sentence sums it up quite well. We have made an impression with our light athlete. We would like to give you a brief overview of the reactions. We've put together a few sources for you - with lots of facts, driving impressions and, of course, extensive picture material.

What kind of bike is the R.X275?

Many commentators ask this question at the beginning of their deliberations. The decision is made quickly. The R.X275 belongs for the trade press and influencers in the range of light eMTB. Weight, geometry and drive concept justify this conclusion. Even if Michael Biernoth emphasizes that the "slim silhouette" and the "combination with the small installation space of the TQ motor" mean "that you can hardly identify it as an e-MTB at first glance." The concept of "super-light, motorized mountain bikes" is not new, he said. "However, with the ROTWILD R.X275, this concept has been developed around a nifty gadget: the Boost Button!" he describes. "Sprightly and agile" is how you feel on the R.X275, even if "no moped pushes you up the hill." The use of own performance characterizes the use of the bike. Thus it assigns itself more closely to a bio MTB. The advantage over other light eMTB concepts with TQ motor lies in the Boost Button, which offers the icing on the cake more power when the power decreases in tricky passages.

Ready for the trails of this world - the new ROTWILD R.X275

With a very natural ride feel

For Christian Schleker from the trade magazine Bike, the hour of the R.X275 beats on the "flat house circuit with little elevation meters and a lot of flow." There where you can do nothing at all with a lot of power, because you go beyond the support level in pedaling. The R.X275 pokes into the niche between the classic MTB and the light eMTB. "This light e-bike also rides completely naturally with the TQ motor switched off and is almost indistinguishable from a normal MTB in terms of handling," Christian Schleker said in his review. For him, the R.X275 is not a bike for everyone, but riders "who come from classic, sporty mountain biking and still appreciate the sport aspect." The subjective riding experience, he says, is very close to the classic trail bike. "It's been a long time since I've had so much fun bunny-hopping over fallen logs," he reports.

Slim and slender - that's how it stands, the ROTWILD R.X275

Clearly recognizable as ROTWILD

"The carbon frame comes with a clear design language: straight lines and angular edges give the bike a modern look." So says Mike Hunger of E-Mountainbike. That's what makes a ROTWILD stand out, he says. For him, the fundamental novelty lies in the HPR50 motor from TQ and its symbiosis with a 250 Wh battery. Unlike other concepts with the same motor, which relied on a combination with a 360 Wh battery. "Own input from the rider" they asked. The support from the motor runs in the background. The boost gives clear support. This driving style is very easy on the battery. You don't need to be afraid of range. The descent on the trail is a feeling of well-being, she said. "You stand well integrated in the bike and have a good balance between front and rear," writes the tester. "The long wheelbase contributes to the high smoothness and encourages you to leave the brakes open longer, in little roughness high-speed sections you can quickly forget that you have only 120 mm of travel under you."

Sporty, very agile, with a focus on its own performance - that's what makes the handling of the R.X275 so special

„The belly of the beast”

The international press also got wind of our R.X275. The signals blew across the Atlantic to Canada, to the editor's offices of Pinkbike. Editor Matt Beer opens his article with the thesis that the categories in the world of mountain biking are becoming more and more blurred. Thus, he divides our R.X275 into the growing segment of short travel bikes with motor, which no longer weigh much more than a bio bike. From a distance, he says, it's impossible to tell that the R.X275 is an eMTB. For example, the compact motor and the newly built 21,700 cells in the battery are barely noticeable in "the belly of the beast" - in the down tube of the bike. At the same time, the R.X275 is remarkably quiet. Not only in terms of the motor, but also in terms of the noise that the bike itself makes while riding - without chain flapping or cable chatter.
