The R.E375 is SUPER

How do you get as many descents as possible on a bike while benefiting from handling as close as possible to that of a classic enduro? For EMTB magazine, the answer lies in bikes with plenty of suspension travel, downhill-heavy geometry and a weight of under 20 kilos.

For a comparison test in issue 3-2021, the test crew took the ROTWILD R.E375 PRO under the microscope. The test premise was the focus on downhill performance, because "in the enduro segment, the light concept makes sense, because bikes in this category are optimized for fast and violent downhill. Climbs are rather a means to an end," the magazine outlines the test orientation.

MTB tester Wolfgang Watzke about the R.E375: "For me the more coherent bike, because up as down fun usable."

Light, agile and high driving dynamics

The R.E375 is clearly positioned within the ROTWILD Aggressive Series: 29 inch wheels, 170 mm chassis, full carbon frame with modern enduro geometry and a powerful motor make the enduro light, agile and equipped with more driving dynamics than previously possible. This is also confirmed by EMTB's impression: "ROTWILD has launched the R.E375 with the same basic concept as the R.X375 trail bike: the classic Shimano EP8 with full power potential and a removable 375 watt-hour battery in the full carbon frame. However, the R.E375 plays in a completely different league in terms of geometry: flat, long and with 170 millimeters of stroke front and rear. Plus stable tires and still a weight just under 20 kilos."
At the same time, the R.E375 "doesn't want to be a mini DH," rather "it also shines in tight direction changes and on natural trails and is very close to the classic MTB riding feel."

The Shimano EP8 motor provides strong support when it is needed. Different support levels and two customizable profiles can be adapted to personal preferences. For more support or high range.

Agile all-round enduro

The assessment of EMTB tester Christian Schlecker at the end of the comparison rides is clear: "The R.E375 shows its qualities as a maneuverable all-round enduro and - with the appropriate motor setup - also allows uphill riding fun." In a direct comparison of the test candidates, for tester Wolfgang Watzke the ROTWILD is even the "more coherent bike, because it is fun to use both up and down.

Clever battery integration, for the EMTB magazine a major plus: "The open down tube makes the ROTWILD about half a kilo heavier, but the removable battery has advantages."

What the R.E375 scores with in the test

  • A big plus is the exchangeable battery. The ROTWILD is so well equipped for "bike park use, day trips (with second battery) and fast trail laps equally.
  • More power through a powerful motor. With the Shimano EP8 "shoots the ROTWILD up even the steepest climbs. The rear end is very stable in the stroke and works sensitively. The wheel thus appears light and manageable."
  • Convincing geometry. "Downhill, the geometry with the quite high front is suitable for steep descents. Beautifully spacious and smooth running. In slower and twisty trails, the ROTWILD is at home, spoils with natural handling and a lot of driving fun."

In view of a total of 125 points, the test verdict of the EMTB is clearly "Super". The R.E375 plays to its strengths in both steep and technical uphill. On the trail with flowing downhill sections, the bike clearly sets itself apart from the competition, so that the EMTB magazine draws a clear conclusion:
"The R.E375 is a great all-rounder with a natural feel uphill and on trails. In very demanding terrain, the fork performance clearly limits the bike - here the Kenevo pulls away. The replaceable battery and the power motor speak clearly for the ROTWILD. A very good, broadly applicable light enduro!"
