ROTWILD x HELP — Peak performance for a good cause
ROTWILD and the charity project HELP share the vision of combining athletic and technical excellence with social commitment — delivering more power on the bike and support where it is needed most.
Giving new meaning to adventure
After 15 years in competitive cycling and various sporting initiatives for a good cause, including a record-breaking crossing of the Alps, Björn Traenckner and Max Schaller launched their own charitable project: the HELP energy bar.
This source of energy, made from oats, hazelnuts, and cranberries, generates a donation of at least 50 cents per bar for aid programs in the fields of child and youth support, health, sports, mobility, and development.
‘We want to connect the idea of charity with peak athletic performance, from a fresh, new perspective,’ says Björn Traenckner, co-founder of Support Sportif gUG, the company behind the HELP bar.
A race of generations
At this year’s Giro Di Mankei up on the Großglockner Pass, Max from HELP and our colleagues Flo and Lukas staged a race of generations. Max rode his S2 from 2015, the last road bike ever built by Rotwild to date. Flo and Lukas were equipped with brand-new R.R290X gravel bikes.
Max was given a 30 minute head start to balance out Flo’s and Lukas’s constant uphill tailwind in the form of 130 watts of motor power in level two on the R.R290X. The two e-gravel bikes with TQ motor were also equipped with fast road tires. And to keep their legs fueled with the necessary energy, all of them carried jersey pockets full of HELP bars.
Over the 35 km route with 1,700 meters of elevation, Lukas on the e-bike actually managed to catch up with Max just before the finish at the Mankei Hut.
ROTWILD and HELP
At the Giro di Mankei, ROTWILD and HELP showed that cycling is not only about speed, but also about taking responsibility. Since then, ROTWILD and HELP have been united in a partnership: with every online order from ROTWILD, a HELP bar is now included — a small piece of energy that also does good.
For the first batch of bars, €1,000 goes directly to Pump For Peace — a global non-profit organization founded by pump track company Velosolutions. Its goal is to give children in underprivileged communities access to cycling and action sports through pump tracks. Pump For Peace aims to inspire them to live a healthy and respectful lifestyle — and is convinced that this can ultimately change the world.
