Most Innovative Brand: Rotwild wins silver at the eMTB User Awards
The idea of creating something new is encapsulated by a significant term derived from the Latin verb 'innovare' – to renew. This concept refers to innovation, which has characterized the work of ROTWILD since the brand's inception in 1996. Nearly 30 years later, the drive to conceive new solutions and to explore new paths in developing high-performance products has become integral to the brand's essence. Readers of eMTB-News recognized this fact by awarding ROTWILD the silver medal in the 2024 User Awards.
At ROTWILD, innovation stands for 'genuine innovations'
The editorial team emphasizes that this area is particularly exciting. They justify the community's vote as follows: '[...] it reflects which manufacturer you attribute the greatest innovation power to and from which house, innovations and groundbreaking novelties come to the market time and again.' ROTWILD has succeeded in moving up one place in this assessment scale compared to the voting last year. For the experts at eMTB-News, this is 'hardly surprising,' because 'from this German brand [...] regularly come completely rethought E-Bikes to the market, which shine with genuine innovations.'“
The basis for this is the clear focus on the eMTB segment. Here, ROTWILD has presented many successful concepts based on carefully developed innovations and has significantly advanced the performance of E-Mountainbikes. For example, in 2013, the first full integration of motor and battery as an Integrated Power Unit (IPU) into a vehicle with mountain bike kinematics was introduced. Building on this, the experts in the Research & Development department – abbreviated as R&D – have continuously pushed forward the pioneering position in the integration of these elements.
Innovation remains the driving force of development
Until today, the quick release battery removal via a simple button press is unique in the market. The same applies to the development of very lightweight bike concepts in the Light-eMTB segment in the R.375 series or the current super-lightweight trail bike R.X275. Here, the concept of eAssist focusing on minimal assistance from the IPU stands out. The rider contributes the majority of the power with physical effort. At challenging sections of the trail, they can access extra power for up to 30 seconds via the Boost Button. Additionally, ROTWILD was the first to fully integrate a saddle post from Eightpins into a carbon frame or cables and lines in the cockpit and frame.
