Innovative design wins Red Dot: Best of the Best Award 2024
Revolutionary design honored with top award at the Red Dot Awards 2024
Now it's official: the ROTWILD R.R275 X has been honored with the prestigious "Red Dot: Best of the Best 2024". This award recognizes the leading position in modern product design and our commitment to reshape the future of cycling. The Red Dot: Best of the Best is awarded for pioneering design and is the highest distinction for product design in the Red Dot Award. Only the best products in a category receive this award. As part of the competition, the jury evaluates not only the aesthetics, but also the functionality, durability, product peripherals and self-explanatory quality of the products.
At the award ceremony on June 24, 2024, Peter Schlitt, CEO ADP Engineering GmbH - ROTWILD Bikes (left), and Thomas Fiegl, CEO ARTEFAKT (right), accepted the award in person. This honor was preceded by intensive work on the R.R275 X - the creativity and in-depth know-how of all those involved have brought the project to the forefront of international design.
The particular challenge for lead designer Tomas Fiegl and his team was to design an e-gravel bike that both meets ergonomic requirements and offers a completely new appearance. Despite a rather classic diamond frame architecture, the design team succeeded in creating a striking silhouette by integrating the motor, battery, cockpit and front and rear lights into the carbon frame structure. These visual features ensure that the bike is unique in terms of aesthetics and characterize its dynamic shape.
This innovative design also impressed the Red Dot jury: "The overall design with its balanced proportions, from the carbon fiber-reinforced frame to the detailed elaboration of the lines and controls, is extremely convincing." The ROTWILD R.R275 X also impresses with its outstanding riding experience. The 250 watt TQ mid-motor HPR50, twelve electronically shifted gears and a weight of just 12.8 kg ensure outstanding performance. Additional features such as the boost button for increased support and intuitive control of the front and rear lights from the handlebars round off the concept. The handlebars can also be adjusted in two positions, allowing both a more upright and a more sporty riding position. The red and gold color variants further emphasize the iconic silhouette of the bike.
For the entire ROTWILD team, this award is a significant recognition of our continuous efforts towards design excellence and technical innovation.
