How the R.X375 ULTRA convinces

According to a survey of the online magazine E-Mountainbike among its readers, good all-round characteristics are essential, because often a bike is not only used for a single purpose. That's why the E-Mountainbike test crew wanted to find the best trail all-rounder and invited a total of 25 bikes with very different concepts to the test. In this test field, the R.X375 ULTRA is representative of a trail-oriented, sporty e-mountain bike that "offers the handling advantages of light e-mountain bikes and still provides sufficient motor power".

Innovative overall concept with high quality

The idea behind the R.X375: to implement the ideal typical characteristics of a sporty all-mountain bike in an EMTB. For this, ROTWILD Engineering has combined a lightweight, high-performance carbon frame with a modern geometry and realized many detail developments. According to E-Mountainbike Magazine, this was successful: "The lightweight carbon frame between the 29" wheels is not only super light and chic, but also perfectly integrates the entire system around the motor. All the other frame details, such as the extra-soft chainstay protector or the rattle-free cables, also testify to the bike's decidedly high quality."

Modern geometry

The R.X375 has a 66.5 ° flat steering and 75.5 ° steep seat angle, plus a very balanced seating position. The newly developed frame for all-mountain use scores in the test with this modern geometry, the testers say: "With a reach of 475 mm (size L), all testers around 1.85 m felt comfortable right away. (...) The steep seat angle positions the rider centrally in the bike, which also provides pressure on the hands."

All around integration

The optimal integration of the Shimano EP8 drive system and its electronic components was an important development focus for the R.X375. The magazine states: "ROTWILD shows with the Shimano I-Spec system how excellent ergonomics can be combined with a really clean look. The fact that all thin EP8 cables disappear almost invisibly through the stem in the frame, puts the crown on the whole thing."

Unrivaled driving pleasure

The true potential of the test candidates is revealed on the trail and the ROTWILD is particularly convincing: "If you ride flowing trails uphill, no other bike in the test can hold a candle to the R.X375 ULTRA in terms of riding fun. Even if the battery is then quickly empty, no other bike in the test delivers so much engine power with such lively handling as the ROTWILD," summarizes the magazine.

The best of two worlds

Geometry and kinematics of the R.X375 are designed for action, this is confirmed in the descent. "The R.X375 ULTRA combines the best of two worlds. Agile and nippy like an analog trail bike and yet powerful and powerful as the all-rounders in this test. The sporty, tightly tuned bike is particularly convincing on flowing trails with jumps, waves and approach curves," the testers state.

EMTB on the next level

Due to its high agility and positive riding characteristics, the magazine sees the ROTWILD as representative of those bikes that "take e-mountain biking to the next level, making it more intuitive and fun. The handling of the bikes is phenomenal and for many ambitious (e-)mountain bikers there is really no reason to ride an analog mountain bike anymore."

The concept works

Very playful, exceptionally lively for maximum riding fun, with particular strengths in flow trail, this is how the test crew describes the riding characteristics of the R.X375 ULTRA and underlines this in its conclusion: "The special battery concept of the chic ROTWILD R.X375 ULTRA is a complete success. It combines the agility and lightness of analog trail bikes with the uphill fun of powerful all-round e-MTBs. Especially active and experienced pilots spur the ROTWILD to peak performance. For beginners and touring riders, however, it is only conditionally suitable."
