"For All Mountaineers" - the ROTWILD R.X1000 in the Mountainbike Test
The Mountainbike magazine tested our new R.X1000. Editor Chris Pauls was on the road with the All Mountain Bike in the ULTRA equipment variant. Between the lines of his initial remarks, one can read: he couldn't wait for the test of our model to be in its production-ready state. After all, a few months had passed from the first presentation at Eurobike 2023 in Frankfurt to his current ride. For him, the bike is clearly a model for mountainous terrain.
The R.X1000 is an innovative advancement
The editor defines the R.X1000 as an eMTB that appeals to all-mountaineers and should 'feel at home in all mountains.' Chris Pauls attributes this to the 150mm travel in the front fork. Indeed, this is a value that situates the bike - according to current standards - in the corresponding segment. He highlights the full carbon frame, which is inspired by the R.X750. This All Mountain model, with its geometry, robust suspension, powerful motor, and large battery, defined a special area of use: riders embarking on long mountain tours with significant elevation gains. The R.X1000 now continues this concept in an optimized form. Therefore, the R.X1000 adopts the geometry of its predecessor, with a steering angle of 66 degrees and a reach of 468mm for size L frames. This is described as 'not particularly modern, but comfortable and proven.' This especially pays off in terms of tour orientation and provides ample space for the rider. The 'bulky appearance of the top tube' particularly ensures 'a feeling of safety and grandeur.'"
The R.X1000 is a tool for many tasks
For the tester, the all-round capabilities are an important factor of the bike. It places the mountain bike in the handling sector right in the middle between playfulness and stability. The suspension tends towards the latter on a scale between a firm and a comfortable setup. The R.X1000 is quite agile on the trail. Additionally, the 'successful tire choice' gives the bike the 'necessary grip and traction'. The bike comes equipped with Schwalbe Magic Mary and Hans Dampf tires from the factory.

The motor-gear unit as a special characteristic of the bike
An important factor for Chris Pauls was testing the Motor.Gearbox.Unit - or MGU - by Pinion in series production. This also made the waiting time until our test bike became available particularly exciting for him. Factors such as low maintenance, protected housing for the motor and gearbox, and a central center of gravity in the middle of the bike have underscored the positive reactions to the innovation from the Swabians from the outset. The tester now observes: the shifts between the individual gears are 'finely graded.' The motor power with 85 Nm of torque impresses him: 'Strong and dynamic, it tackles technical terrain with ease.' Chris Pauls also judges the noise of the motor as 'strongly audible,' a matter fortunately always closely aligned with subjective perception.
Chris Pauls' conclusion
The editor's verdict is very positive, which pleases us. 'What Porsche is to cars, ROTWILD is to e-bikes,' says Chris Pauls. What a special exclusivity that represents. For us, this is mainly based on factors such as: many years of experience in German engineering, affinity for mountain biking, focus on ambitious riders, high quality, and practicality in the areas of use for which we tailor each of our models. This gives the rider a bike 'that shows its sovereign side on long tours and alpine terrain rides.'
