A star of the season? The R.X750 CORE in test

Who are the EMTB stars of the season? That's what Mountainbike magazine wanted to find out in its big comparison test with a total of fourteen current models, including the R.X750 CORE.

Innovative and top processed

Integration is a key feature of the R.X750 models. The carbon frame and the IPU750 contribute significantly to this, as do the many technical details such as the battery fixation or the MonkeyLink mount. For Mountainbike magazine, this is a "coherent concept" with "many innovations". In the rating for workmanship, the magazine also awards 39 out of 40 points.

The integrated train routing provides a clean look and precise function.

Benchmark for engine characteristics

An important aspect in every EMTB test: What benefit do the motor and battery give? In addition to the pure performance data of the motor, mountain bikers consider its characteristics to be very important for riding fun off-road. And this is where the Brose drive clearly plays out its advantages. "The quiet, yet powerful and dynamic Brose motor performs convincingly in every respect," say the testers. In the evaluation of the motor characteristics, the Brose motor scored a total of 73 out of 80 points. Thanks to its tuning, the R.X750 CORE clearly wins among the bikes with Brose motor.

Still the benchmark in terms of power delivery, natural sensing, weight and motor noise: the Brose Drive S-Mag.

Best performance for reach height and range

Big Mountain, that's what the R.X750 models stand for. This means large, extended tours, where many meters of altitude are taken under the cleats. The specially developed 750 Wh battery plays a decisive role in this. The editors record up to 59 km range under test conditions in their logs, no other bike achieves more. In terms of altitude, the R.X750 CORE impresses with 1,889 meters of altitude, which is also the clear best performance in the test field and thus full points: 100 out of 100 points.

The semi-integrated 750 Wh battery is equipped with the latest cell technology for a very high capacity.

High driving dynamics and balanced handling

For the testers, the riding characteristics are particularly important. These include balanced uphill and downhill characteristics, high driving dynamics and harmonious geometry. With its "lively chassis" and an "all-round balanced handling" the R.X750 convinces. The ROTWILD designers have done a great job on the rear triangle, because the compact chain stays with 445 mm have an "immediately noticeable" effect on the trail according to the magazine. The resulting agility gives the testers great fun, they note: "Compared to many longships in this test, the ROTWILD shows almost bustling handling."

With 150 mm suspension, the R.X750 is designed sporty and at the same time offers plenty of reserves for rough terrain.

Test rating Very Good - Big Mountain as its best

The design of the kinematics makes the range of the bike clear, because the testers are impressed with both the propulsion efficiency and the downhill characteristics: "The chassis is tuned sporty-tight, but offers enough reserves for rough terrain". Even in the cheapest equipment variant, the R.X750 can place itself excellently in the comparison test with 865 points and receives the test rating "VERY GOOD".
