Sofia takes the win at French EnduRoc

Successful Enduro Race: Team AMG ROTWILD rider Sofia Wiedenroth proves her skills at the Roc d’Azur Festival.

Roc d’Azur Bike Festival at the French Frejus location is known to be one of the largest mountain bike events world wide and counts more than 100.000 MTB enthusiast every year. With a huge variety of race events from XC and stage / tandem races up to well established enduro races, the "Roc" is a very welcome season wrap up - like this year for Team AMG ROTWILD racer Sofia Wiedenroth.

This year, the XC specialist had chosen a very different race: the well recognized "EnduRoc" enduro race, which counted 5 special stages, an over all distance of 36 km and 1.500 m ascending not only offered great climbing but especially the technical sections demanded high concentration and technical riding skills - features that are natural to world cup Racer Sofia.

Due to the long travelling, Sofia just had time to practise two of the 5 special stages and had to trust on her fast reactions and skills during the race. Sofia is not only a fighter on the fast disciplines and proved this with her win at the end: "On the first special stage all competitors were still riding close together. Although we startet in 30 second gaps I could already pass three riders on the first special stage. Unfortunately I crashed after all but could keep on going. On the next special stages I played it safe because I hadn't ridden them before. And this strategy paid off. Although I got surprised after a corner there was a very steep climb or there was a very blocked rock garden, I hardly had any mistakes and I really won this enduro race. What a season wrap up for me!"
