Race report Mariela Scott national XCO championship

News / / Back to Overview

The national XCE/XCO championships took place last weekend in Salmanca some 320 Km north of Santiago. The Chilean Women Elite pilot Mariela Scott from TEAM ROTWILD started from the first row.

Difficult start on a demanding track

Unfortunately Mariela got involved in some struggle with other racers and was thrown back on the last place. She pushed forwards and fought her way back into the top ten on this technically very demanding track. The blocked rock gardens demanded extreme concentration from the racers. Mariela reached the finish line at the 5th position without any mechanical problems.

Happy end

After the race Mariela commented:"The rock gardens were tremendous and many racers including our male colleagues had to get off the bike to get safe to the next section. I love my ROTWILD R.R2 HT 29 because I felt secure on it at all times. That I made the 5th place after my struggle at the start is a surprise to me because the competitors were very strong. Next weekend I will start at the COPA CHILE race in Petorca. My dear colleague Andrea Anjarí will also compete in DH there."
