On the last weekend of May the Chilean ROTWILD Bikes ambassador Andrea Anjarí competed aboard her ROTWILD R.G1 FS 27.5 at the UCI Class C Polpaico DH race, some 40 km north of Santiago. The track featured rock gardens in the upper part and became very flowy in the lower part. With practice on Saturday, the easy and mid sized jumps were no real challenges for Andrea. During her qualifying run Andrea kept her fingers off the brakes on the dry track and had a very good run with 2:42 min.
Sunday morning, race day, the track was still dry and practice went well, though by mid day heavy rains kept rolling in. The track became a real challenge. Despite of the adverse conditions, Andrea managed to be only one second slower on her final run compared to her previous day qualifying run: "It's incredible!“ said Andrea at the finish line. „I can't believe it. The track became a challenge with the rainfall. Mud fields and the slippery rock gardens needed all my attention and despite of these conditions I never felt more secure on my R.G1. With my time of 2:43 and just 3/100 seconds behind first position, it is proven that my psychological preparation worked and I am very happy about my second place.”
