Andrea Anjarí wins the Curacaví Enduro Race 2016
The Cuarcaví Enduro Race took place at the Monterrey Estate approx. 60 km west from Santiago. At cold temperatures and an icy wind 255 racers started in Cuaracavi. Amongst them also TEAM ROTWILD rider Andrea Anjarí.
The event organisators had worked for over 4 months on absolutely new tracks, which lead through native forests and over bridges. The three special stages provides everything that is required by an enduro rider: grip, flow, technically but not very challenging and an outstanding scenery. The uphill’s demanded physical conditions at its best. Specially the almost 6 km long uphill towards Special Stage 2 had to be won mentally. The compensation for such hard work was a 10 minutes downhill ride. In total the competitors covered 20 km and 1000 altitude meters.
Andrea who is still new to the Enduro discipline did very well and managed all climbs within the pre-established times. The victory in the Women Elite category and in the overall women ranking recompensed all suffering. After the race Andrea explained: "I can't still believe it but my R.X1 FS is really an extraordinary bike. It feels like a mini downhiller to me and never let me down. I am really happy about my victory. Suffered but won. Next weekend I’ll race at the Master of Time in Petorca a UCI Class C DH Race where my dear team mate Mariela Scott is also competing in the XCO discipline."
